Preliminary class is designed for those new to the Iyengar method of teaching and people experienced in other forms of yoga.
In a Beginners class, the emphasis is on the standing poses which increase steadiness, strength, stamina and improve flexibility. The use of props are also seen in some of the yoga poses, to help new students or beginner to iyengar yoga to get the best from the practice with support. You are introduced to the preparation and basics of inversions. It gives a foundation in which you start the exploration of alignment for continued progress to attend Level 1 classes.
